Sedation Dentistry

IV sedation is endorsed by the American Dental Association and is an effective way to make many patients comfortable during their dental visits.

It most commonly is used for patients during extensive procedures, for patients with dental phobia, or for patients who find it difficult to sit still. It also is helpful for patients who have physical needs and strong gag reflexes. Asheville Dental’s office provides IV sedation using a board-certified anesthesiologist (M.D.) to administer and monitor the entire sedation process.
